“Crystal Coast Reflections” by Theresa Caroon

Have you ever seen the ocean from under the waves? In clear waters the light shines through and gives off the most beautiful reflections. The marine life glistens and shimmers in the waves. This was the inspiration to the “Crystal Coast Reflections” piece. I wanted to create the feel of the reflections of under the waves. The piece was carefully drawn out in several sketches. The commencing beadwork took approximately 58 hours with writing all the crystals down as they were stitched on. The entire piece has 3187 crystals each sewn on one at a time. As the piece evolved from the picture in my mind to the necklace it took on a life of its own. Growing like the rolling waves it seems to capture all that is reflective of the Crystal Coast.
